Our Story
SC Reborn Mommies & Babies began in 2014 as a place where the love of reborn dolls could become something even more meaningful: lasting friendships, shared learning, creative expression, and community.
We welcome adult collectors with different backgrounds and experiences. Our gatherings are respectful, educational, and uplifting—giving members room to share their artistry, learn from one another, and make memories.
“We may arrive because of the babies, but we stay because of the bonds we build.”
Understanding the Art
A reborn is a collectible art doll transformed by an artist to resemble a human infant with remarkable realism. The detailed creative process is known as reborning.
The art form grew in the United States during the 1990s and expanded into an international community of sculptors, painters, artists, and collectors. Some artists sculpt original kits, while reborn artists use layers of paint, rooted hair, carefully selected eyes, weighting, and other fine details to create each baby’s lifelike appearance.
Collectors appreciate reborns for their craftsmanship, artistic beauty, creative styling, companionship, and the comfort of a meaningful hobby. Within our community, many collectors affectionately call themselves “Reborn Mommies” and refer to their treasured collectibles as their babies.
Meaningful to Many
Reborn dolls are cherished for many different reasons. For some collectors, they are beautiful works of art. For others, the dolls, nurturing routines, and collector community can offer a calming presence, meaningful activity, companionship, grounding, and a positive focus during emotionally difficult seasons.
Collectors have described finding personal comfort while navigating experiences such as grief and loss, infertility, loneliness, anxiety, depression, stress, PTSD, or bipolar disorder. Doll-based activities have also been studied for possible benefits related to comfort, engagement, social connection, and well-being for some people living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, and some individuals may find the routines helpful for sensory regulation.
There is a large global community whose members often lovingly call themselves “Reborn Mommies” or “Reborn Parents.” Many prefer to call their treasured collectibles their “babies,” reflecting the personal connection, care, and creativity that are part of the hobby.
These experiences are personal and vary from person to person. Reborns do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental-health condition and are not a substitute for licensed professional care. Our Reborn Gallery
Every reborn has a personality all its own. Journi and Jamari, shared with permission from a member’s family collection, beautifully reflect the creativity, detail, and variety found within the art of reborning.

What We Do
We meet several times each year, including our annual Meet-n-Greet in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

We meet together several times each year so adult collectors can build friendships, enjoy fellowship, and make lasting memories.
Our signature annual Meet-n-Greet in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, brings members together for reborn babies, conversation, activities, and fellowship.
At selected gatherings, thoughtfully prepared gift bags—filled mainly with baby-related items—add a personal touch. Compact group information may be shared when practical and affordable.
Meet Our Ambassador

Our Impact
Our hope is to make a positive impact in the reborn community by bringing together reborn moms and dads from across South Carolina and other states. Wherever you call home, we will gladly welcome you into our group.
SC Reborn Mommies & Babies thrives on five guiding values: Faith, Compassion, Creativity, Friendship, and Community. These values shape how we welcome members, build relationships, and create lasting memories together.
We measure more than attendance. We document participation, track gift bags and other items provided at gatherings, gather member feedback, and preserve stories about what each experience meant. This accountability helps us learn, grow, and use future support responsibly.
